Dealer seemed disappointed to see me?

Well, took the truck in for it's last pre-36 month check up.
Had a couple things for them to fix under the bumper to bumper warranty.

First and foremost was the small holes in front of driver and passenger seats. Some of you have had this issue. There is a little sharp piece of metal under there that wears a hole in the seat. And will cut you if you aren't careful. As soon as I told the service writer this he went to get his manager. The service manager asked what year it was. The service writer said 2005. Then the manager asked if it was still under base (warranty), again asking the service writer. The service writer stated that it was, until the 25th of this month. Then the manager gave an 'ohhkay', kind of like he was disappointed that I got it in under the warranty. Not once did the service manager speak or look at me. The service writer was nice. I also left it for a leaking coolant line up front and a leaking differential cover/axle tube.

Why is it such a disappointment for the dealer to replace things under warranty? They still get paid to do it.
Either way, I'm getting new seat fabric. Considering the crappy fabric anyway it's not much, but it is under warranty. Besides, I can deal with stains and vacuum those out. But sharp metal pieces that cut through the fabric aren't a good thing. Lucky I didn't cut my leg and call my attorney.

Now I'm ranting.
Hope y'all are having a better week.

It always seems like if its under warranty, and I go in to get something fixed, something else will go wrong. But if I have to pay for it, nothing ever goes wrong. Its so weird.

I've been in quite a few times for warranty work. They always have a huge smile on my face when I come in...Until I give them my problem list. Then the smile doesn't last very long.

Ford sucks for warranty work.
The manufacturer doesn't pay much for warranty work, so the dealers never want to do it. I have NEVER had a good experience with Ford warranty issues, no matter what dealer.
It seems like in this time and economy they would be happy for business no matter the reason. Make sure you express your feelings when you get a customer service follow up from Ford.

That's only because so few people with Fords have to go in for service. Easy to learn names of just a few people.

In most cases I'd agree, in my case its because we spoke more that I spoke with my family for a period of about 2 months out of the past year haha, I had alot of issues w the truck, plus my dad has bought every truck hes ever owned from them, so they want to keep the whole family happy

Warranty work depends on the dealer. At my home town dealer they're extemely helpful, but not so much at the dealer in Tallahassee.

I bought my truck used from a dealer in another state. When I went to my local dealer they brought the cam phasers to my attention and scheduled the work. Brought truck in for leaking rear axle seals on right side; they replace both sides in no time. All under warranty. And when you drop a vehicle off they rent a car for you, they don't keep a loaner fleet anymore.

Only bad thing is they shorted me 1 qt of oil once but they took care of it in short order.

Off topic: I'm from tallahassee and use the ford place here (magnoilia). I've never really had an issue. The only issue i had was the cam phaser issue and they reported it was "normal" I had an extended warranty so i just waited until about 40K miles and took it back and then the tech described it as a "awful" noise. Other than that i've had good experiences. But then again i'm always straight forward with them.

OP: Out of warranty i do believe they are more eager to do work. They do get reimbursed a greater amount
