I had a front strut bar on my 99' mercury cougar when I was 18 years old. Was about 5 years ago, it really helped stiffen up the suspension. Not sure if you really need it on a truck, might help with the body roll if your up high. And does make the engine bay look alittle better, but that is an outrageous price tho, I paid like $130 for mine back in the day.

For a truck? Are you series? Waste your money on something that is actually useful. Trucks like ours do not need engine bay braces.

A car has a unibody and needs a brace between the strut towers because the strut towers are part of the body of the car. On a truck, the strut towers are mounted on the frame rails. I really don't see how these braces could make much, if any, difference at all. They do look kinda' cool though. On a car, a brace like this is very simple to install. On our trucks, I bet it's not a simple install.

I am skeptical of the need.

Did you put one on to find out? Because I've owned lots of Mustangs with and without superchargers along with trucks and they corner better with the brace for sure.

Even these box frame trucks flex in the turns.

No, I never bothered to install one. I was always too busy trying to find more power to use in a straight line of 1320 feet.

They are mostly for looks, but it does add something aftermarket to the engine compartment!
