Side Exit Exhaust?

I just had a Magnaflow welded on in place of my stock muffler and now I think I want the side exit instead of rear. Is there and sound difference inside the cab if you exit your pipes just in front of your rear tire. I like the sound and tone no and don't want any more sound inside.

I think it will be much louder since it will exit much closer to the cab. Just my 2 cents.

I'd say 2 times as loud inside the cab, as you have now. If money is no issue, get some sound deadening stuff inside, like they use for Car Audio!

I had a maggy 18in body installed in place of the stock just like you. SIDO ran two 2.25 pipes way out the back of the truck. The maggy just wasnt impressive at all, I was so dissapointed the only thing the kept me from just cuttin it off was well $$ and I actually enjoyed the sound of acceleration compaired to my old flowmastered avalanche. So I just delt with it, then got on this site and ran into Dexx00420 here, good guy he had his setup swept infront of the right rear with a single huge tip looks really good. So he talked me into it "lol" and finally I got my exhaust dude to sweep them out, since it was a SIDO I just went with two pipes to the side, with chrome tips the style looked better IMO. As far as the noise level, with the maggy being a more quite muffler from the get go, I didnt notice a HUGE difference. There was a difference but not bad, I actually love the way it sounds now. I have had a ton of complements on the sound since I did it, I think it just opened up that muffler. I do feel like I lost alittle bit of my top end tho due to the lack of backpressure but almost like a gain in torque. I might be loosing my mind tho, here is a few pics.

note* I really figured that I was gonna wind up with alot of those poping and crackling noises you know as the pressure releases from the muffler but to my surprise no more than with the duals. I mean with magnaflow your gonna get that performance sound rather than the heart throttling rumble of a flow IMO. There is a guy here Darren I believe hes got the loudest maggy setup I think ive ever heard on a truck and still it sounds wonderfull I would like it but hes true duals with cats deleted or replaced one. I've got the SIDO side exit and love it. Sounds great on accel., and not too loud when cruising. Looks way better than out the back, which just never looks quite right IMO.
