09 Lobo emblems
#61
IDK it started with the rounder body style the 97+ were called lobos, before that they were still f150s.
But then again, the cars we have here sometimes get renamed in other countries or branded under a different logo.
For example, our Saturns get branded Opels in europe and higher end aussie chevy cars come over here as pontiacs with a more economic drivetrain but share platforms and body panels.
Our jettas here are renamed something else in mexico too, i think they are Borras.
ETC its all in marketing i guess.

i was never too fond of the LOBO namesake...
I hate when i go to mexico and they park my truck at the valet and then they ask "the blue lobo?" when i leave. Its not a freakin lobo, look at the emblems, its an F150, just like every other F series for the past 50+ years...
damn, and im mexican too...
guess im just in a bad mood today lol

Most people who hadn't own a LOBO didn't know what F150 was..., but they did know what a LOBO truck was.
So in Mexico, a "LOBO" truck means "bad *** luxory truck".
Any Mexican who refers out loud to your truck as a "LOBO"..., is recognizing you as the owner of a Bad *** Luxory Truck, if people around hears him they will pay attention and then check you out in your truck when you drive a way, he could as well call it simply "the blue trucka?" but he ended up complimenting you, unintenionally maybe but still, after all he was maybe doing points for a tip as well.
Here we don't call them "F150" as that name doesn't say to us just as much as "LOBO", and the valet parking may not even know what F150 is.
So, it was all good, I mean, that's what you would want to happen in USA in the same circumstances but using "F150" instead.

Back in the days 1997 "F150" didn't mean much in Mexico as a truck, maybe more like a work package truck.
Most people who hadn't own a LOBO didn't know what F150 was..., but they did know what a LOBO truck was.
