Looks good. Your the first one I've seen to put 09 FX4 badges on an 04-08.

Why did you put the "explorer" 4x4 badge on your tailgate? Why not get the FX4 badge like most do?

I wonder, does the tailgate 09 F150 emblem have the same pin design as the 09 fender emblem? So it can be used as a fender emblem.

 

Due to design of the 09 tailgate emblem, the emblem will NOT cover the holes in the fender.

 

Probably the same reason you lowered your FX4 when most people lift them...Because he wanted to

 

From another thread the tailgate emblem is not large enough to cover the alignment holes on the fenders. Which is a bummer cause I like the badge without the long tab that has the XLT, FX4...etc.

Although I do like the 09 badges much better and will probably buy some since the lettering on mine has come off.

 

Those FX4 badges were OEM on 03-06 Expeditions with the FX4 package and they were placed on the liftgate in about the same spot I put mine.

I love the new badges. My badges are in terrible shape right now. I just haven't got the chance to take it to the dealer and get the warrenty to fix them. I wonder if I could work a deal with them and get the new badges put on. If there was a price difference I would pay it for sure to get the better looking, and probaly better overall emblems.

I saw they same auction the other day too. However one of the guys on here that works at a parts department tried to put one the badges on the fender that didn't have the long tab and said it didn't completely cover one of the holes in the fender. Said it was close but didn't cover it completely.

 

Bummer, again.
