05 Crew FX4, Black on Black, I want heated seats

I bought an 05 Crew cab, FX4 Leather, the works.. it has allot of options I like but one thing I want to add is Heated Seats. I searched on a few forums and found a few threads here on the subject, but wanted to freshen the subject and see if anyone had any tips, tricks, advice..

My Local shop wants 295.00 per seat and I would rather tackle the project and try to get it done for around the $150.00 point. (69.00 carbon fiber pads on ebay now).

Here are some photos.. don't mind the dirt, it was taken the week of a storm.

Ive done it for $40. Pick up a set of those cover things that you just put overtop of any chair/seat. they are like $20 each. All that you have to do it carefully cut them open and pull out the heating pads. if you like, and i did, you can take out the tiny motors and add massage to your truck as well. once you have all the components out of the covers just remove the factory covers on your seats and slide in the heating pads. if you want to put the massage motors in just cut a pocket ou tof the foam...basically make a sandwich out of the motors....FOAM-MOTOR-FOAM. that way there will be foam covering the motor. put the covers back on...run the wires...hook up 12v and your done. you use the controller that came with the slip cover thing or you can get the heated seat buttons from FORD and it would look factory

Wow, a member for almost 4 years and this is your first post!

I've seen a how-to on this, let me look around and see if I can find it. I've been thinking of doing this as well, but I'm also thinking of getting Wet Okole seat covers and I'm not sure if the heaters would work through the neoprene.

Yeah.. I did not realize I signed up so many years ago when I owned my 04. But I have more questions now.. so I am using the site.

I ordered two heating pads. I think they are a basic set, there were others that offered 1 one shut off safety and dule led switches.

I got just the basic one.
