Question about alignment w/Autospring

I finally got my 1.5" Autospring and 3" rear block on. I went today and had my tires put on...33" Toyo AT's. Got a reasonable deal, but had an issue with the alignment. They had to put on a $175 camber kit only on the driver's side. The passenger side was in spec. What would cause this? I noticed that the driver's side tire still has positive camber and pulls hard to the left now. Before the alignment and tires, it tracked perfect. Granted, it rides very good, but the alignment has me concerned. Any thoughts? I won't be able to have it seen about until next weekend since the tire store is about 35 minutes from me. Should I take it somewhere else? Thanks.

That sounds odd to me. I have a 1.5" AS and they had no problems at all aligning mine. I have a 2005. I don't think anything is different on the '06s.
Have any pictures? How does it look with the rear block? How much larger is the 3" than the stock one?

not sure, but i wouldnt drive it too much until you get aligned , just so the wear on the tires doesnt get uneven

It just strikes me as curious since only one side was off. What's also funny is when I apply the brakes, it pulls to the left. I didn't have any of these problems until I had it lined up. Ticks me off that the alignment was $99 and the camber kit was $175 and I'm having this issue.

take it somewhere that does a free alignment check, and get a print out of the specs. If its off take it back to the original shop and make them fix their work

Hmmmm. That's a dang great idea. Thanks P. I knew it sounded a little fishy when the guy showed me the specs. I didn't want to buck, since it is a reputable place. It's just my luck that the truck looks amazing, the tires ride smooth as glass, but the DANG alignment is off and I'm footing the bill. Just letting off some steam.

yea it sounds bad. I work at a shop, and do alignments frequently. It shouldnt pull at all when done correctly. Also make sure the steering wheel stays centered when driving, or that might need adjustment too.

The brake pull sometimes can be a brake issue, but you already said it didnt do that pre alignment.

When I had my 2004 aligned after I put on my 2.5" AS kit, the alignment was off a hair. There was some negative camber on the passenger side, that is all that was in need of adjustment.

what you are describing is horribly wrong. that shop obviously doesn't have a clue, and/or they took you for a patsy

a leveling kit doesn't affect the alignment for the tires left to right.

if the truck drove straight before the lift, it will drive straight after the leveling kit is installed. Period
the leveling kits affect the amount of angle the tires are tilted inward or outward from the OEM position...not their left to right inclinations.

That is why you see the outer edges of the fronts wear only if you don't get it aligned right away...like I did.

My truck drove perfectly for well over 1,000 miles after my 2.5" install. tracked straight and true...but my outer edges on both front tires started to show wear.

wife took it to a local shop and they aligned it in about 15 minutes. that was 2 yrs ago, and no special parts/kits were needed. just a competant technician

Something is definitely wrong. I installed my AS kit and only the toe in/out needed to be reset. Caster & camber were fine.

Exactly! The same was true on my old 04, and I had the 2.5".

Thanks for all the replys. I'm definitely gonna have it seen about. I think they were just trying to get more $$$$. I ended up waiting for four hours just to put a set of tires and get an alignment...rediculous in the fact that I even made an appointment online. This is the first time I have done business with them and probably the last.

the autospring most likely didnt cause the camber issue...It has probably been like that for a while, any time you hit a pothole it can do that...not uncommon. The autospring should just effect toe in and out, but miles of driving can effect the camber and whatnot. I would definetely get the pull to the left fixed though.

Also, if the tires you put on are wider than stockers...the wide tires tend to throw you all over the road and can make it feel like the alignment is out, but it is really just the bigger tires going where they want to go...I have had that problem.
