Nice mod james, Good job. I need this mod in a bad way. Several times I have left the tailgate down after unloading. Then wondering what people behind me think of who is this idiot. I have the access roll top cover since the first week I bought the truck and can't see the tailgate from the cab. The access cover still looks new after four and a half years later so I don't think I'll be taking it off just to see if my tailgate is up.
, You could probably take it a step further and tie it into the "door ajar" warning on the dash, which would also activate that annoying reminder tone. You'd have to have a switch to deactivate it in the event that you wanted the tailgate down for moving something longer than the box, like a lumber yard trip, etc.
