Sending Unit Question

Sending Unit Question
So I made a thread recently about how my truck would tell me I had no gas.
So the service shop has had my truck since Tuesday.. and now they are waiting for a sending unit to be sent from the USA..
How is there no sending units in Canada available?? So here goes another week of waiting as they anticipate it getting their sometime next week.
Also they are giving me back my truck until it comes in (thank god!) is there any harm to driving it?? they said just make sure I keep the tank as full as possible so I dont run out..
What a pain in the butt...
