Air through Steering column? 06 FX4

06 FX4. I leave work yesterday and it's around 5 degrees. I get about half way home and notice thighs and knees are still kinda cold. So I feel right where the wheel meets the steering column and can feel just a very slight draft. Plus the steering column is pretty damn cold. Somehow air is passing up through the column. Not much mind you but when it's that cold you notice it.

Is this common or something I need to look into.

I would look into it as I have a '06 FX4 also. Never experienced what you are talking about.

I just checked what I could see of it at lunch and see nothing out of the ordinary. I wonder if it's because it was just so cold. It's not really a breeze or draft just COLD. Strange.

I think I have this figured out. After watching many episodes of ghost hunters and paranormal state, I believe what you have is a spirit of a ghost hanging around down there. In both of those shows, a spirit presents it's self as a colder spot than the rest of the area.

Im just trying to be funny, sorry. But I have the same problem in my 07 STX sometimes when it gets real cold out, Like the cold snap were haveing now where its -10 in the morning.

I noticed the same thing on mine the other night. I walked out of school at about 10pm and it was already -18 out. I am positive that it's just the air moving from the fan over the very cold interior plastic and metal pieces that makes it fell like a draft. I do not notice it any other time expect when it is really cold.

I know this thread is very old but it was the only one I could find on this subject. My '06 has this problem as well......has anyone been able to determine where the air is coming from?
