Look for one out of an FX4 or a Lariat

Problem with that is all FX4's have a black steering wheel and Lariat's have black or tan. XLT's and lower have grey steering wheels. Some XLT's have tan interior, so they get a tan wheel.

If you could find a wrecked fx4...theres a few near me, and get the whole steering column and airbag, the black looks muuuuuch better than the grey wheel, even with the grey interior.

My stx had the black column and I put in the leather wheel, it looks very good.

Or If you wanted to be raped...they do make a grey leather wheel from ford, or you might be able to find one in a wrecked xlt

Thumbs up

The part number for the gray leather steering wheel is 7L3Z-3600-FC.

I purchased mine a week or two ago from my local dealer, but in retrospect I should have ordered it through Tasca Ford instead and saved about $100.00.

You will also occassionally find one on ebay, but for what they usually go there I'd say you're better off just buying a new one from Tasca.

Black does look way better than the grey wheel...I would be happy with just the black leather wheel, no need for the column........

How too question: changing the steering wheel

Quick question. How easy is it too change the steering wheel? I know that it is more complicated than it was many moons ago, before the air bags.

Has anyone installed one of these leather wheels on an 04 with just the cruise control on the wheel? If so were there any issues with the cruise working on the replacement?

Thanks in advance,
