Regular Cab - Years Made

I'm interested in getting a newer F150, I have a 99. I like the regular cab model, but it seemed that Ford stopped making them for a while. Does anyone know in which years from 2005-2008 that they made the regular cab F150?
Thanks,
Gary

I'm pretty sure all years have regular cabs. Mines an 06, and I know there's an 07.

They have made them every year but the 04-08s are a different door arrangement then the traditional regular cab. You'll have to see one in person or a pic to understand... I can't explain it well.

The Ford website says this about the 09 regular cab: Exclusive 4-door regular cab with two full size forward hinged doors and two rear access doors.

all the cab configurations have 4 doors.

the Reg cab has these tiny little ~6" doors. The Scab doors are ~1.5 to 2" long, and the Screw doors are about 2.5' long

IMO, the 04+ reg cab has a pretty good setup. It gives you 6-8" of space behind the seat that older models and other brands have never had. Kinda makes the truck more useable

I had a single cab before my new truck now and my 05 single cab was great because of the extra amount of room behind the seat! I still wanted more space so i got the extended cab but loved the single as we..

the 04-08 models have the reg cab configuration. it's a mini suicide-door like the SCab, but you dont have any seats in the back of course. however, it's much better than the previous model as you actually have space in the back for storage and be able to recline your seat (not too sure if older model allows you that). the suicide-door allows you to access the back area from outside of the truck which imo is really helpful. i think the 09 model is designed after the Concept f150. it's a just a longer door like you see on the 04-08 SCab.

In the old models I don't believe the base model vinyl bench reclined.
The 60/40 and the buckets do recline.
The seatback will recline just as much as you are willing to slide the butt part forward.

I do and don't like my regular cab... I do like it in the sense of when I was in college, I'd have all my books and notebooks back there... but now since I'm out, it just turned into a garbage collector.

However, there is enough room for me to sleep back there though (I'm small)... and I keep some pillows and blankets back there and it's worked out great on those few times I was too tired to drive home, and I'd just fix it up back there and go to sleep. Granted, not a lot of room to move around like in a scab, but it works in a pinch for me at least.

Speaking of that... there's a fella over at where I just graduated that he lives in Alabama, and he didn't want to spend the money on an apartment or a dorm, and he had a Chevy 1500 extended cab that he lived out of for the semester. He'd shower in the locker rooms and just go to the laundromat to wash his clothes. He said it was kind of tough the first semester doing it, but now, he said it isn't bad at all.

Interesting what you find out there...

Yep -- it could be argued that the '04 - '08 regular cabs are not really regular cabs at all -- they're more like mini extended cabs. While I will concede that the extra space behind the seat provides a benefit for some, you will never convince me that a true regular cab truck should be configured like that.

I have an '05 regular cab and would have miuch preferred it to be configured like the '09 regular cabs, which have the traditional 2-door set-up.

For 09 they reconfigured the doors, but the overall cab deminsions are the same size as the 04-08 trucks
