B post paint??

Has anyone here tried or know of a truck that has the b post plastic painted? I have a red 08 and am looking at painting these pieces to match my truck, I use to work in a body shop years ago and i dont see why it wouldnt work but i havent seen a truck with this done. I am just worried about the painting coming off the plastic.

I used to paint at a body shop... Key word used to glad i dont do it anymore anyway it can be done if u have the right products. I'm familiar with 2 paint lines. Sikkens and Dupont. dupont will say that if u can sand it and it creates dust and turns white(which any hard plastic will do) that you can sand, seal, and paint without an adhesion promoter. Sikkens on the other hand has a couple methods for testing plastic. We had a float test and a burn test. Dependind on what the sliver of plastic did told you what adhesion promoter to use. So if you had a competent body shop around they could do it. Sorry for the long reply but its one of the few ways i can contribute to fellow f150 onliners

I'd just be safe about it and scuff it up good, get a rattle can of adhesion promoter to use on it. Seal it up and paint.

Thats what i was going to do but wanted to get some input. The biggest reason i want to do it is because i have the ventisors painted to match also. so its looks a little funny to me anyway with them red and the post black.
