Water leaking into cab from the front
Water leaking into cab from the front
I have an 08 f150 and recently installed a new radio and speaker system. I ran the wires under the carpet on both sides and noticed the passenger side was soaked with water and had a lot of water in the channel under the passenger side sill panel as well. I was not a happy camper at that point. I then dried it all out over about 3 days, and then did a little test. I pulled the carpet back and removed the passenger kick panel near the fuse box so I could check for leaks. I then wet the windshield with the garden hose for about minute and then jumped in to see if I could find a wet spot. I sure enough see a little trick near running down the metal behind the kick panel and gathering in the sill panel. This kind of made me a little mad, becuase I hate other people messing with my truck.
Off to the dealership I took it today and later I get a phone call from them. The first thing they ask me is if its okay for me to leave it there another day. I say sure no problem. I asked him if he knew anything about where its comin from and he said he doesnt know and they have to pull the dash out tomorrow. He said its probably a seam under the dash somewhere.
I hope they dont mess my truck up too much, It only has 9k miles and I plan on keeping it for a long time. I'll keep you updated on it though.

I have an 04. I have moisture in the same place. It eventually corroded my wiring harness and I lost power to my mirrors, drivers seat, and adj pedals. This was due to a poor splice made by ford and the splice was not protected( not heat shrinked). I dont know where the mositure was coming from, but it wasnt to bad. Let me know if they find out where its coming from.

most of the time it turns out to be the a/c condensation line being clogged up. You'll have to crawl under the truck and find the hose to blow it out. I think it's on the passenger side just under where the firewall is.
