Hardwiring Garmin GPS Unit

I have a Garmin Nuvi and have been wanting to hardwire it for awhile now. I cant stand having the wires running everywhere through the truck and that big cigarette adapter plugged in. I would also like it to cut off when the ignition cuts of. I know there are many ways to do. can anyone help me out. I would like to do it the neatest and easiest way possible. Thanks for the help.

i asked the same question about a month ago for my TomTom. I spliced an extra 12V outlet into the switched power of my headunit, and plugged it in that way.
