05 4x4 problems

My lights for 4HI and 4LO come on but it doesn't seem to engage. Could it be the actuator motor?

I just bought the truck in September, and it doesn't seem like it will engage at all. I tried it about 3 times in the last month in snow and the back tires just spin when stuck.

hit the motor on the back of the t-case with a hammer (lightly) and then try shifting to 4x4

I do hear a cluck when I put it in 4LO and a little click for 4HI, but got stuck going through a 6" snow pile.

What does this motor look like or do you have a picture?

sorry, no pics

it's about the size/shape of a 12 oz soda can and sits on the back of the t-case.

you'll see the rear driveshaft, and this motor will be adjacent to that.

just tap it lightly a few times with a hammer, then try out the 4x4
