A few HID Questions
A few HID Questions
I am currently running the hid4u xentec kit in my fogs 6000k (2004 f150). I love the lights but I have them plugged into the factory connectors which worrys me. I have not had any issues with the lights or start up. Should I keep these lights plugged into the factory harness? The only draw back is the fm radio signal loss with these lights Is there any way to eliminate it ( I am pretty sure its due to the ballasts)? I am also in the market for a bi-xenon kit for my headlights. What is a good quality kit in the $150 price range?
Thanks

They have the 35w kit for $160 shipped and $190 for the 55w kit. They use digital ballasts so you will not get the interference you are getting with the kit you have now....quality kit.

I would put a wiring harness directly from the battery on the foglamp HIDs. The stock wires cannot carry the full voltage that the ballasts demand on startup, and eventually they will be damaged.
HIDGuy---Bi-Xenon w/Digital Ballasts $165
This is where I hear to go all of the time and this is where I will be ordering mine from.

+1 on the retro-solutions. He had a group buy, but the mods deleted the thread.
These have NO radio interference on them. I need to order a relay for my fogs still.
On the Xentechs, you can either build a iron box to keep the balast in, or wrap them in something that will minimize its frequency output.

...you can thank me later, lol. I was looking for the group buy thread and saw your post, then realized that I had made the page a favorite in my IE...and it still works, woohoo!
Digital ballasts do not interfere with radio signals.
I absolutely love my kits from DDMTuning.com. Only thing I didn't like (which I will take up with them this week to see if I can get replacement H10s) is that they told me to get a lower temp 35W set for the fogs b/c the 55W set for the heads would fade in color slightly. Well it didn't so my fogs are a little off color form the heads. Other than that, I couldn't be happier.

After you have HID heads, you're going to be craving HID fogs, the light output is amazing. Just make sure to stick with 6000k and below.
. I will be one step closer to the suns light output, my final goal. lol.
