Help with floor mat options

Howdy. This is my first post. I just picked up the truck in the sig. Replaced a regular cab Ranger and I've never had a full-size before. Its a sweet ride if I do say so myself.

So, somehow or another it doesn't have floor mats. I need front and rear (SuperCab). Trouble is I can't figure out which ones fit my truck and the manufacturer web site pictures are truly lame. I'm leaning towards the Nifty/Lund Catch-All brand right now.

Front: I'd like to cover the hump and get custom fit ones for the driver and passenger. I have captains chairs. Does that mean I do or do not have a center console? I've seen the center console with the auto shifter but that wouldn't need a center mat, right? And the bench seat is definitely without a center console. So does that mean mine is considered with a center console?

Rear: I'm gonna fabricate my own under seat storage divider out of MDF. So I need custom mats that cover the hump but don't go under the seat. That eliminates the WeatherTechs. Anyone have a picture of the Catch-Alls?

Any other recommendations? Thanks.

Hi,

I can't help on the floor mats. I wonder though why you would use MDF for the box instead of lumber core? Lumber core would be much lighter and just as flat and straight. It also wouldn't be as prone to warp or sag in high moisture situations.

Just my .02.

Congrats on the move to full size. You won't regret it.

Thats a very good point. I was thinking MDF mostly because I already have an 8'x12" section left over from a pervious project. But unfortunately for my wallet, the wife vetoed the custom made one about five minutes ago. She actually wants to pay $180 for the DU-HA one! I guess it isn't a bad idea since I carry fluids and grease. If they spill, they won't ruin anything.

And I bought the Husky Liners front and rear mats just now too. But I'd still like to know if I am considered to have a center console.

Don't know why I can't get a PM... but I turned off the direct email.

Either way, I saw your floor mats. I was looking for something that covered both humps and thats what I got. Thanks though.

I'm not 100% sure what your configuration is...that is...if you have the shifter on the steering column, but have a center console (not one that flips up so someone can sit there). I know there's a center console available without the floor shifter but can't picture it at the moment. Does it go all the way to the dash or is there still a gap that would need to be covered by a floor mat??? If I'm reading your post right, I'm assuming this is the case. Onto the mats themselves...I had a set of catch-alls for the front of my truck. They are pretty good, but don't fully cover your carpet...when I yanked them out to put in my Weathertechs..had to spend quite a bit of time vacuuming and scrubbing dirt and salt residue off my black carpet. The worst area was the driver's side between the sill plate of the door and the edge of the mat...there was an inch or so gap there and that's where alot of stuff got crusty. Not bashing on the catch-alls as they are IMO...better than the factory floor mats and way better than anything you'll find hanging on the shelves at most of the local auto parts places. It's just after seeing the weathertechs...I wished I'd have held off on buying the catch alls...spent about the same on both sets. If you search around on this site I'm sure you'll be able to find pics of both brands.

shookman34, you got it. My shifter is on the column and I don't have the fold up armrest, I have the floor mounted console with carpet between it and the dash. I believe that answers my question as well... I have whats called a center mounted console. Now it makes me wonder what the console that goes all the way to the dash is called.

Big Slick, I read that thread believe it or not. I've actually been shopping at Amazon for everything this year. About a year ago they must have made a corporate decision to out-price every other Internet retailer because their prices have been insane. And with free shipping generally.

I bought the custom fit Husky Liners actually. I really liked the Weathertechs but they didn't offer a hump mat. That was important to us. And I got them at Amazon.

cool, i didn't know if you saw it so i thought i'd share. the weather techs are generally regarded as the nicest mat you can get, though if you're looking for a certain style, like the hump, then you're out of luck.

I bought the Catch All's for my wife's Vue and the Weather Tech's for my truck. The Weather Tech's are wonderful. I should have bought the Weather Tech's for her. Not a huge fan of the Catch All's for the price tag.

We'll see how the Husky Liners do. They are the cheapest of the custom-fit mats but I've had good experiences with them in the past. And they were very nice on the phone when I called with questions.

Du-Ha also confirmed that their storage thingie works with them. Again, very nice on the phone.

WEATHER TECHS...

They are AMAZING, and they catch everything. I walk around the ranch, through mud, through snow, and everything else and they trap it all keeping the carpet brand new. No more worrying about whether or not people will wipe their feet off before they get in, or if the mats will hold up.

I have the Husky liners in my SuperCab, front and rear, and in my opinion, you cant beat them. The diamond tread pattern matches the door sills, and the raised edges keep mud and water off the carpet. The rear liner can be cut to fit if under seat storage is needed, instructions are provided with them. I think you will be pleased with the Huskys.

Arrabil, the console with the shifter is called the flow thru console, mainly because it HVAC ducts that 'flow thru' to the rear vents. They were optional on FX4's and Lariat's and standard in Harley's and King Ranches and the FX2's.

The other console is called the XLT console, they only came in XLT's as an option until 07 when you could also get it in an STX.
