Happened to my truck. They left to doors open to clean the inside, drained the battery. I guess it was a regular occasion because they had a jump box on hand

I need a battery also. Whats with the negative vibes about optima? Dude probably left your lights on while in the store. I've seen it kill a battery a bunch of times. I used to work retail and I'd run out and jump customers cars off all the time.

Since I moved to Texas, every battery I've had go bad (at least 3 or 4 in the past 12 years) has died without warning. Pull up to the hardware store, run in for five minutes, and when I come out -- BOOM! -- deader than a door nail!

Back home in Minnesota, the weather would usually give you an advanced warning, with the battery starting to crank the engine slowly on cold mornings. Here in Texas, one minute you're in the penthouse, and the next minute you're in the outhouse!

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but how many of you use a car wash? I am somewhat forced to or the only other option is a spray booth, which does a bad job. I will wash outside in the drive until it gets below freezing, probably much to the amusement of my neighbors

these trucks have a battery protection circuit. key out: after 10 minutes the battery is isolated.

the circuit resets when you shut and reopen the doors though

how's the new battery treating you?

Truck started this AM. Always a good sign. Truck was dropped off for the brake booster recall this morning, oil change. Since it's cold outside now, the dealer gets the honor of changing my oil...

If you are referring to my post, no, it was daylight, no lights in use, plus I have the lights on auto, they turn off themselves.

It was -12 out one fine day when I decided to wash the truck. By the time I had 5 wash mitts stuck/frozen to the truck I decided to do the carwash dealio.

You should've seen the one flapping off the end of the antenna while driving down the highway! It was hard as stone.

Good thing it didn't fly off and break something or hurt someone!
