(Lash tick) Really loud ticking noise.

My truck is starting to develop a loud ticking noise, I was wondering if this is due to valve lash? I still have warranty on my 2007 FX4 5.4. Is there a way to fix adjust this?

Are you sure it's new? The injectors are supposed to make a ticking noise as they open and close. If it is more of a knock, it could be the cam phasers.

It started about 10km ago, its not a knock but more of a ticking noise the only time its noticable is when I'm at an idle. It sounds like a have a small deisel under the hood.

The cam phasers only make noise when the engine is warm and the truck is at idle. Do a search as this has been discussed to death, many many threads about this.
