TV Tuner?

On my pioneer HU there is an option for tv. I think pioneer has discontuned there tv tuner, but I was wondering if anyone knows of one that is good. I googled it and found a few tv tuners that just tap into the A/V jacks, but you would have to control it with a different remote. I dont want the giant flat antenna on top of the truck to get satillite, just basic tv would be okay. And since the change, digital tuner would be a must. . It would be cool to be able to check up on the news and when sitting somewhere watch the local sports game. Any ideas?

have you tried contacting pioneer tech support or customer service and see what they recommend?

Some guy on avic411 was using the DTV tuner the government is handing out for the change. Said he called the 1-800 number, got a free tuner and wired it up somehow.

I don't have a clue how to do this but it might be a start.

You wouldn't want the discontinued tuner anyway, it won't work after the digital transition in February! So you're probably stuck with the aftermarket tuners that use the A/V in and their own remote.

That might work. I would have to have an inverter running to give it power. I was thinking of wiring up a 750w inverter in my truck and running power outlets through out my truck. I guess the converter wouldnt hurt it that bad. And those new digital tuners for the change should have A/V jacks coming out of the back. I will have to look at those at work tomorrow and see if that is feasible. Then I would have to find a way to wire up some sort of antenna that is consealed, but still gets reception. Hmmm...

I'm waiting on the same thing b/c I don't have kids, so I don't need those three channels, lol.
