Can the 04' fuel door hinge be fixed???

I don't under stand how it works, even though I am very mechanically inclined so I don't see what I need to do to fix actaully it. Nothing LOOKS broken but the spring just holds the door neither fully open or closed, It is stuck in the middle. Anyone ever glue mod or repair these somehow. WHAT is actually wrong with it? If it is plastic I can use "Plastic Fusion" epoxy. That stuff can fix any plastic and is strong as hell.

i had to fix mine, its cause its just cheap plastic for a hinge and a piece breaks to keep the spring from being effective, i had to take out screws on the assembly than get underneath the truck to release from the fender

oh yeah then i fabbed upped a new "hinge" out of metal... basically look at the broken plastic thing and then replace it with a long as heck thin bolt, and then bolt on a piece of metal with the right holes drilled in it onto it you will see, its a PITA though
