I searched as many different ways as I could think of and couldn't find anything relevant to my problem, so I thought I'd ask here.

I just picked up my truck about 2 weeks ago now and it has the parking assist feature, although I've never heard it make a sound. I noticed that whenever I am in any gear, the OFF light is always on. I looked up in the book and it said that while in Reverse, push the button and the light should go off confirming it is switched on. Still no luck. As long as the truck is in gear, the OFF light is ALWAYS on.

So I got back there today and found that the sensors on the corner of the bumper on both sides weren't even plugged in. I guess the previous owner got tired of them or something. I plugged them both back in, but still no luck with it working. Do I need to somehow reset this system so it knows everything is plugged back in now or what?

One other note, when I first start the truck, the OFF light is not on. Put it in Reverse, give it about 3 seconds, and then the light turns on. I would assume this is it going through and checking its sensors, but have no idea how to make sure its working.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and resetting it that way?

 

Mine does the same but i have noticed that when my tailgate is down i get the back up noise and i had them replaced a long time ago and it still does it so im at a loss but i wouldnt depend on them anyway.

 

This sounds like a bad sensor. This happened to mine after I got rear ended and they had to hunt to find out which one was bad.
