Red & black what do you think?

soooooo Ive been getting away from the whole "Chrome" thing.....I know my color truck and "SOME' chrome looks okay, but ive always been a fan of flat and gloss black....soo to get down to the questions

Im planning no painting my emblems taking the chrome door handles off and was thinking about doing my wheels since ive seen a few other people do it on here and then getting my exhaust tips taken off and black ones put on. As well as either ordering harley heads and getting tinted windows, and nice shaded tails and 3rd brake light

My questions
_____________

Should I go Flat or Gloss black?

Ive seen people paint all kinds of OEM wheels, but none have been the wheels I have......if i prep it right should I be able to paint them?

does anybody have any pics of Red trucks blacked out?

My truck is red and I blacked it out. Got rid of all the chrome, painted emblems black with shadow gray inserts from patriot decals. And all of the above you mentioned. The chrome around the oval emblems I used gloss black and all the rest is flat including the bushwhackers. My wheels are the black teflon coated Predators.

i like how it looks now, i would be worried if you painted them, they might kinda look like a spare tire.

Gun metal doesnt seem like a bad idea, but the rims definitly look different than a spare....but who knows, still in the thinking process

I see what you mean on the rims, but there was also another guy that painted his stock rims black and they turned out good I think......the guy you were talking about seems like it was almost a flat greyish.....maybe flat black with few good coats on it would look to bad.would all gloss black look bad?

Who....meeeeeee?????

Personally, gloss black - don't do it. I never liked the "gloss" of black, unless it was the paint. Take a look at my gallery, I carefully matched all the black on my truck, but didn't want to put too much black on it. That is why I chose the wheels I have. You can get some ideas from there.... or my website

The only thing left for me to do is the tails... I am still torn between two brands.

You nuts or something? Chrome wheels are played out. They are eeeeverywhere. I hardly ever see black wheels with a polished lip.

chrome is beyond played out now... but the black/chrome lip combo is coming in a close second now.. specially on red or black cars
