OEM bedliner and tailgate liner install ?s

Well I installed the OEM Ford bed liner without any real problems. Just pulled up in the middle of the bedliner like what was suggested. My question is how it he tailgate liner supposed to go on. I know for certain that the included kit was not sent; I believe it should've had longer screws. I made do with the screws that were there in the tailgate and used some washers to hold them down. Obviously a temporary fix. Am I supposed to take off the plastc tailgate top rail thing? Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

The install kit comes with the longer screws that have a short non-threaded shank above the threaded portion to hold the tailgate protector in place and they replace the stock screws.

could someone snap a pic of what these screws look like? so the tailgate liner just sits on top of the tailgate. removal of the plastic top rail of the tailgate is not necessary.

OK. Here is a picture of the label that was on my bedliner, and a picture of what the screw looks like. It is a torx head. It looks like the part# for the screw kit is: 4L3J-9928546-AA

Hi guys !
I recently removed my Ford OEM Bedliner. Now, i will need the stock screws (smaller) for the tailgate.
Does anybody know the part # of the stock screws ?

And i need to replace 3 out of the 8 torx screws (stripped when removed) that came with inside-bed tie-down hooks(2 screws on each 4 tie-down hooks).
I know the tie-down part number which is: YL3Z-9900064-AAA
But i dont know if it come complete with the screws.
What do you think ?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks !

Liner

I just got a liner from the junkyard a month or so ago. If you notice the bolts for the tailgate are not threaded the same as the bolts that come out. The ones in the tailgate are threaded (metric I think) while the replacements look like lag bolts. I used spacers on the originals where I could with brass washers under the heads. There are a couple of them that are too short but I also got the holddowns and bolts from the source truck and they are threaded the same and longer than the orig tailgate bolts. Where the originals were too short, I substituted those and they worked fine. If I remember right, there are 8 or 10 bolts in the tailgate, and I got all 8 of the holddown bolts for the source truck, so I had enough for mine and some leftovers.

On taking the existing tailgate liner off, your threads are probably mashed up. I suspect you'll need either a tap or rethreader to restore the threads to use bolts in them.

Just my 2 cents

Paul

I just removed my OEM bedliner two days ago. I actually just bought the original tailgate screws this morning. The part number is W710734-S439.

I'm not sure about the tie-down screws. Were all of your screws the same size? On, mine, the two screws holding the front driverside tie down were twice as long as all the others. Not sure why.
