it is a dealer DEMO with 34,000 miles, untitled.

they are asking all said and done, $24,500.

meh.. that's kinda a toss up.. a lot of people don't mind buying used, and if ya don't mind buying used, and ya play your cards right, you can get a heck of a deal.. considering it had a msrp of 45k.. and it's going for $24.5k that's not too bad with 34,000 miles.. I checked the kbb value on it, as if it were a King Ranch loaded, considering they would both be in about the same original list price. For a private party seller, it was estimated at $24,650 in Good condition.

I would imagine if they are asking $24.5k, you still have a little bit of room to play.. maybe lowball them a bit more and offer up $20.5k and go from there.. all things considered, it only has 34,000 miles.. that's nothing with these trucks from what I've seen.. then again, it all depends who drove the truck.. if this was truly a Demo truck.. and it has 34,000 miles on it.. that's either a chitload of people taking that truck out for a spin, or it was used as a company car.. look into that a little bit more. Unless this truck was exclusively used by a sales manager or something along that sort, and instead it was actually used as a "demo" vehicle, I would pass..

I dunno bout you, but the words "test-drive" don't necessarily give me any peace of mind considering how bad I get on to every vehicle I've ever test driven..

All in all, I say look around.. sure the 2009s are nice too, but there are plenty of new 08s still on the lots with deep discounts well over $10k..

34K is a hell of a lot of miles for one year, maybe less.

if you want the 09, wait 6 months to a year. you won't get the same steal that you would get on the 08s, but the newness of the truck will wear off and you should be able to deal.

it was the sales mgr. truck for the last year....

i actually drive about 40,000 miles a year and have never owned a truck. my company car is going away soon and as i stated, love the 09s for their size and interior (FX4), and a truck would be handy, but not a necessity by any means.

i just thought, besides being beautiful, it was a good deal. maybe not.

I wouldn't spend more than 16k-17K because of 34k miles on it. But that's just me. If you want to spend 24.5 on truck, you will be better off spending it on the new 2009 F150.

I don't think that is a bad deal at all. 34K is nothing on the 5.4s. If your split between an 09 and a used 08, Id go with the 08 for half the price.

I would just be concerned what kind of undocumented maintenance has been performed in those 34k dealer miles.....And 24k is kinda high in my opinion.

Hey Matt.. in all honesty, $24.5k isn't a bad price for the truck you're looking at, but I'm sure you can get it for a little cheaper. It really is a nice truck.. I looked around a little bit and found a couple used Limiteds online for sale, and they were listed at $33-34k, although their mileage was 7000-1000. All things considered, you're still looking at getting a great deal. Demo vehicles are usually very well kept, and you should have little to worry about, especially if it was the sale's manager's truck. If you're looking at buying a vehicle in the near future, I say you should definately consider the Limited.. a comparably equipped 2009 F-150 would cost right around $40k easily.. and those prices aren't going down anytime soon..

btw.. here's a few link to the other 2008 Limiteds I found for sale..

For an '08 Limited I don't think that is a bad deal at all. Sure the miles are kinda high... but I don't think you can get one for much less than that.

That probably isn't too bad a deal for a really nice truck, but I would ask them how the sales manager ever had time to work if he could put that many miles on a demo in a year (or less). Dealers don't normally ever let them run up those kind of miles on a demo before they sell them because they're harder to sell as a demo with that many miles on them. I would also want to see the service records and a Carfax on the truck. If that all checks out good i'd maybe offer them $2k less and make them include a Ford factory warrantee for 7yrs.- 100k mi.That would probably be a good deal.
