Heater not working right.

My heater isnt working the way it should be. Monday and Tuesday morning it blew warm air and yesterday it blew hot air. It just took a while to warm up. But today it was still blowing cold air after 45 minutes of driving. Cold it be something wrong with the electronic controls or something wrong with the heater itself?

Any ideas?? I was cold this morning driving to work!!

might be your thermostat...mine did the same thing last year, the engine temp never got over the first line in the gauge

According to my edge, coolant temp is running 180-190.

You may have a problem with the blend door. No air passing through the heater core would keep it cold. 180-190 may be a hair low, but you would still have hot air coming out of the vents.

I was kinda thinking it was something like that since the way it was doing. This morning I had it set on 90 and there was no warm air at all.

I had this problem last year. It was the blend door getting stuck in the A/C position and not allowing warm air into the vents. I moved it back and fourth A/C to heat several times and it eventually worked itself loose. It works fine as long as I don't leave it in one position too long.

Ok guys hope this helps lower the glove box door and look on top of the heater case. to the left up top almost behind radio is the blend door actuator. you should be able to see between the actuator and the case the rod that comes out of the actuator and the door. Adjust the tempature and make sure the rod turns. if it doesn't turn either the actuator is locked up or your control head is not putting out power to adjust it. I have replace very few actuators in this model truck and several EATC control heads for this concern.

The blend door actuator going kaput is a common problem on the 07 and 08 models. When mine went in Oct dealers were having trouble keeping them in stock because they are replacing so many. Ford is "working on a new part" to fix this issue. I don't know why they just don't go back to the pre-07 part, my 05 never had an issue.

Thanks for the location description. I adjusted my temp from cold to hot a few times and it seems to work. Might be on the way out, but for now it seems to be working fine.
