CA671 vs SRT9000

Okay, for all of you guys out there that own Code Alarm remote start alarm, how have they been working out for you on our 04-08 trucks? Where did you pick it up from, and have you had any problems with it? I'm looking into ordering from AutoAlarmPro.com or KCAutosound.com and hopefully installing it myself, considering the 2 local audio/alarm shops wanted to charge nearly $400-500 for labor.. lol

So if money wasn't necessarily an issue, which alarm would you recommend, the CA671 or the SRT9000? I'm going to assume the SRT9000, for it's longer range, cooler remote, and if I order it from AutoAlarmPro, I get a free telematics module, all for about $369.95.. but what sort of differences are they as far as alarm security? How do these 2-way transmitters alert you, does it vibrate, beep, or light up?

How difficult would this be to install considering it comes pre-wired? I have moderate technical knowledge, in that I can atleast put together a computer from scratch and etc, but I've never messed with car audio/alarm installations. I would imagine a 4-5 hour install for either setup, which sounds reasonable enough I suppose.

I have the CA671. I bought it from Travis at KC Autosound and he installed it for me. It took him about 2 hours. I love it and havent had any problems with it. I have had it for about a year.

I've got the SRT9000. I love the features with the remote and the color screen is great. When the alarm goes off it can do whatver you want; vibrate, beep, both. The sad thing is is that I've replaced the remote 3 times! They just quit working for me for some odd reason. It's not like i droped it and it broke just all the sudden they quit working. I've talked with Travis and he isn't too happy with Code Alarm at them moment.

Travis is an awesome guy, everytime I call we get into long convo's about aftermarket modifications, etc etc. Personally, I have the CA-670 (same as 671).

The remote is so damn slow, I swear that two way function is slower than molasses. The range is ok, I've also replaced the remote but that's because I cracked the screen

The system is great but don't expect the response you got out of your 1way OEM keyfob. A lot of times you can hit the lock/unlock buttons numerous times and the keyfob nor the truck will respond. I have had numerous problems because of random issues and everytime I call Travis up, no matter how complicated he stays on the line until we figure it out. And I am no dummy.
