I just bought an 08 SCREW with satelite, mp3 radio. It has a button with a phone icon on it. When you press it the radio responds "No Phone". What is this? Is it part of Mobile-ease? What's it take to make it work? I have read the manual and it does not talk about.

 

I just bought an 08 Super Cab and it has the same radio. I stopped by the dealer and talk to the "gadget man". He said that it does nothing, it is the same radio that is in the "09" that has sync. He said that you have to have a sync included truck for it to work and no "08's" are. I think that it is a bunch of B.S. that the button is there and it does nothing....... Let me know if you find anything else out.......

 

it appears to have been put there for future development. i have one on my 05 as well.

my dealership sells a bluetooth add on that uses that button. i don't know much about it but this is what i do know.

-you need the "phone" button for it to work in your ford
-it has a small external controler that you need to mount
-there is a brain that goes behind the dash
-there is a model that also controls ipods

it actualy looks like a very slick product, and because i have gps on my phone, i may look at this insted of an alternative to an in dash gps.

My 06 has the phone symbol but also says mute above the phone and it mutes the radio I guess it is for when your talking on the phone so you can hear all the other drivers cussing you.

 

In my 05 F150, the "phone" button muted the radio. On my 08, it says "no phone". Waste of a button I guess...
