Anyone With 2008 A/C Blend Door Issues?
Anyone With 2008 A/C Blend Door Issues?
My !@#$% truck will be going in for the FIFTH TIME to have the blend door actuator replaced. Three times of looking at it and tinkereing, and two times of replacing. I am fed up. Now, Ford is working on a fix for sometime in November, while I sweated all summer, and am freezing this fall. I think the quality control on this truck was a total blunder. If it wasn't a company owned truck, I think I would try the Lemon Law. I've always been a total Ford man, but I'm seriously beginning to wonder. The old-fashioned dial controlled heat and air over this automatic is looking better and better every day.

Read my last post (post 18), that is what finally fixed it for me. I completely understand your frustration as I had it in 4 times and had two different doors replaced.

Well, my dealer said that Ford is aware of the problem and is trying to get a fix on it by the middle of November. I am totally !@@$ at this rig, and I swear I am about to trade it off on a different brand. My dealer has me ticked off, too. They have jerked me around two times so far, with the latest deciding to call hotline for their solution AFTER I brought it in. Do you think they could have called BEFORE I wasted my time to find Ford would not authorize further repairs until the come up with a remedy? NO. I'm done sweating and freezing my butt off. It's one extreme to another. Clearly, it's a supplier thing. Why are they 2004 to 2007's fine? I'd bet the blend door actuator is the same.
The 07 is having issues as well from what the dealership that screwed me told me. Try another dealership. Make sure they are replacing the correct actuator, the first one they replaced on mine they can get by reaching up under the dash, it fixed nothing. The one that they fixed that worked for me was the one that they have to pull the dash for. Just keep hammering on them. I had already done the math on mine and was ready to trade my lease in for a Tundra right before I gave them the last attempt to fix it. As for the November fix. . . I was told October, now it is November. The dealership that fixed mine had not even heard that Ford was bringing out a new part. Ask them if Ford is going to pay for a vehicle for you to use while you wait for "the magic new part" since it is undrivable in the mean time. I suspect they are not changing the correct part if it didn't fix it for you after the replacement. It should at least work correctly for a while before the part fails again. I feel for you, I know exactly what you are going through, just keep hammering on them is all I can say. Ford Quality #1

edited to add, I agree it must be a part supplier issue, because my 05 that I had for three years did not have this issue at all.
