Talking Ordered the Gryphon today.

I ordered the Gryphon today. I read for quite a while before deciding to go with this and am fairly certain I made the right decision. I can't get it installed until about Thanksgiving since I'm out of town currently but absolutely cannot wait for it to get here.

That will be a loooog wait. If mine went out, I would order another immediately. My favorite mod.

The wait is going to kill me. I am driving our big 2500 Dodge so at least I have something fun to drive until it gets here.

To Nuclearthreat54, are you serious about not knowing about the Gryphon? I doubt you are but if you are check out www.powerhungryperformance.com

You are gonna love it!! The long wait will be waiting for your custom tunes. I love mine and now see that I would order another if mine ever bit the dust for some reason. Everything that Jim (bluejay) has said has been true and I now truly understand what he ment. Your truck is going to be brand new!! You wont think you are in your own truck.

So what's the difference between this programmer and every other one on the market (like the Edge) ???

Seriously, there is only so much you can do with a stock motor. Bolt-ons (CAI, exhaust...) change the dynamics a bit, and in some cases warrant a custom tune to compensate.

I don't own an Edge (or any programmer for that matter) but doesn't the Gryphon look exactly like the Edge?

The hardware is identical to the Edge except for color. The big difference is that the Edge comes with canned tunes only whereas the Gryphon comes with the same canned tunes plus the option of custom tunes.

I have been tossing around the idea of upgrading my Edge to the Gryphon. If is wasn't for the fact that I am saving to get my truck paid off before our baby comes I would have pulled the trigger already. I just told my father about the gryphon for his 6.0L PSD, he is calling Bill and ordering his programmer and custom tunes this week.

I had no clue what it was, but it looks just like the edge? I ordered the edge a couple days ago and it should be here on the 6th i hope.

Yep just like the Edge. Bill, the owner of PHP, use to work at Edge. He was the only custom tuner for the Evos until early this year when Edge asked him to stop and he started programming his own units called Gryphon. He can also take a Edge Evo and convert it into a Gryphon $35 (swapping the Evos silver case for the Gryphons black case and updating to the lasted filmware so that it will accept PHP's custom tuning) and then $50 for each custom program.

the gryphon friggin rocks

my 4.6 hauls *** even with the extra weight that I have now with my bumpers on.

and the throttle response is insane now, I just tap it, and I'm off to the races.

and that's just with the canned tunes, can't wait to see what the custom tunes will do
