built Ford tough...

Well, it finally happened.....I've been driving since 1979...no accidents...until now....was pulling off the road, with my signals, truck half on/half off the road...I hear tires squealing...at first I thought my brakes locked up on me...then I looked in my rear view window....and saw a red Nissan truck about to plow into me....after about 150 feet of skidding he hit me in the rear...completely totaled his Nissan....damage to my '06 F150 scab....minor scratch to my bumper and a slightly pushed in tailgate....sum of $2200...now that's Ford tough....

thats good. what kind of nissan was it? car/truck?
the second day i drove my truck to school i was sitting at the crossing guard and a kid i knew had a nice mitsubishi eclipse and he ran right into the rear of my truck. this was before i got my hitch.

damage to eclipse- motor locked up, whole front end needed to be replaced (body, shocks, tires, 1 rim, windshield, both fenders, both doors, whole steering system, etc)

damage to my truck- bent bumper and brackets, dented both exhaust tips. $100 for used bumper and i was on my way

I as in my 97 going to the bank and i stopped at a red light. the guy behind me was doing about 40 and railed right into me, hitting the brakes maybe 50 feet before railing my truck. It was a 97 explorer, just got it back on the road 2 weeks ago, with a whole new front clip because he rear ended someone else before. anyways, he totaled his truck out. The cops were amazed that all the damage to my truck was 2 dents in the bumper where his front quarter panels were.

BUILT FORD TOUGH

The inspiration for me getting a truck was when i had my 94 town car, i was truing to make a left in traffic and a 95 f-150 was trying to make the light and ran over the whole front of my car like a monster truck, totalling it. all the damage was on his truck was a bent in front bumper.

Are you sure they didn't rebadge it?

When I think Datsun, I think a car.

Who knows... Nissan's history is as sketchy as anything. I dunno why all the hype over Datsuns lately. I think they are bad. There is a guy over where I work that has one, and all he had were problems with it. I told him he ought to sell it, but he refuses to listen and he tries to tell me it will be worth a lot. And you know what I say to that? I say after a few more winters of all the salt getting to it, you will be lucky to get anything for it at the scrap yard because it will be falling apart down the road.

datsun changed their name to nissan back around '81 or '82, maybe '83. yeah, they made crappy trucks back then too.

OK, I will fess up - years ago I owned a Datsun B-210 pickup, (I hate to admit it, but that little truck was one tough little sucker) and all the parts were labeled Nissan. The truck finally met its end when a drunk ran a red light and tried to cut me in half.

Nissan made the Datsun name for the North American market, and dropped that nameplate to save $$$.

As far as I am aware, my little truck was a nissan when it was sold in Europe.
