Just saw an ad for a new 08 xlt screw 4x4 for $18.5K holy crap! Prob the 4.6 but still - wow!

 

Yeah it will get worse too. We should all prepare to cry.

 

yea we picked up three at work for 18K each out the door, with 4.6L, posi rear and towing package included.

 

It sucks. If I had waited another month, I probably would have saved a couple thousand for sure.

the prices are still going down? i thought they were on the way back up. do you think im better off buying a new one or a used with low miles

 

What hurt the truck market at the beginning was the high gas prices, but now it's the credit crunch. Along with a weak economy, sales are down across the board.

Which means that new vehicles will be discounted and used vehicles will be worth even less.

 

The only problem this late is selection. Most of the high option Lariats and FX4s are gone already. If you find what you like is still on the lot, then you will do very well!

 

Gotta quit looking once you buy something or buyers remorse will set in quick.

 

I traded my 06 Dakota that I owed $14K on and still feel like I got a great deal.

 

I agree, but when I come on here and see people getting brand new fx2s and what not for less than 20k I get sad

 

True....but I don't feel bad for those that bought the first one they saw.

 

i went to Galpin ford yesterday to go look at 08's. They had a couple lariat 4x4's left and no black FX4's at all. They were also doing $10k off sticker, not $7500. I would have got a lariat but id rather get an 09 black fx4 with all the options i want.

And as someone else mentioned, its not just the gas prices anymore why the dealers arent selling trucks. Its the tighter restrictions on credit. And when asked about financing offers on the 09's, he said he didnt know of anything!

 

what kind of discount are people getting if you take the 0% financing. i am looking at some 08' 4x4 supercrew 6 1/2 foot bed trucks in the $44000 dollar range, and was wondering what is a realistic discount with 0% percent.

 

i think its either 0% or the rebate, but not both. You'd be better off to take the rebate and get financed somewhere else before you walk into the dealer.
