exactly, you cant drive around with a 400+ horsepower V8 and expect it to be pump-friendly

Welcome to the force induction club. I’m sure you’ll have a blast with your Roush setup. I’m also part of the SRT8 family (I own a 06 Jeep SRT8) and the Charger SRT8 was just playing with you or just taking it easy because if he wanted to, he could have left you way more behind if he wanted to. Stock, most of the SRT8 cars run low 13’s in the quarter mile and 0-60 times in the low 5’s easily. My stock Jeep SRT8 ran an average of 13.3 in the quarter mile and because it’s the only AWD SRT8 vehicle available, it’s 0-60 times were about 4.7-4.8 bone stock. Considering you have the non-intercooled Roush version with the stock Roush tune at only 6 PSI, you are probably running close to mid 15’s in the quarter mile at best and 0-60 times in the low 7 second range. I think once you get some custom tunes for your F150 in a couple of months and run in good weather conditions with proper traction, you might be able to run the quarter mile in the 15.1-15.3 range with slightly better 0-60 times.

oh I know he wasn't nailing the gas. He didn't leave the line burning rubber.

it was just funny seeing my 6,000 lb truck keeping within a respectable distance of a SRT-8.

I just realized today that Roush messed with the Transmission tuning alot. My motor used to pretty much freely idle at highway speeds when I let off the gas...and going down a hill it would actually speed up.

now I think my torque converter stays locked up all the time. the tranny acts like an old 3 speed. let off the gas and the truck starts to slow down immediately.

not to sure if I like that or not. on one hand it means pretty much instant power transfer...but on the other, it completely negates the benefits of a 4 speed w/ overdrive

i had transmission trouble almost immediately after i installed the s/c. im not sure what the exact cause was but it cost me 2300 to fix and im still having some issues.

just keep an eye on it and watch for unusual shifts. i dont mean to scare you and i think i might be an exception to the rule, but its just somehing to watch for...

You'll be surprised just how quick these can be even in non-intercooled trim. It's the 4x4 that really slows things down. Add true duals on a 4x2 and you get something along the lines of oh say... 14.36@99MPH. with mid 5 second 0-60 times

The newest 4x2 Nitemares are running mid 13's consistently with 3.77 gears and standard cab, both from the factory. A little tuning and I'm sure they can dip deep into the 13's.

Awsome.

If I could run a blower with 87 octane Im would probably be throwing one of those on too (2500 bucks, hell yeah).

Its hard to find just 91 octane most places around here

As far as I know, the new stock Nitemares (which have 3.73 gears and not 3.77 gears) aren’t running mid 13’s consistently in the quarter mile. At the track, I’ve run against similar F150’s (regular-cab, 4X2, stock 3.73 gears, intercooled Roush setup with Roush factory tune) with is pretty much the same setup as the Roush Nitemare without the Nitemare name and none have cracked the 13 second barrier at the track. Those trucks usually finished with quarter mile times in the range of14.4-14.6 depending on weather conditions. One of those trucks had the non-intercooled Roush setup and the best he could run was a 15.2 in the quarter mile. The one that ran a 14.4 had headers and a true dual dynomax exhaust setup. According to Motor Trend’s performance tests, the official intercooled Roush Nitemare’s are running in the 14.3 range in the quarter mile, which isn’t surprising from my experience at the track.

http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/...are/index.html

Now, adding a couple of mods to the Roush Nitemare such as a custom dyno tune, e-fans, 4.56 gears, a true dual exhaust setup, and raising the boost with a new pulley, then the Nitemare will be able to run in the mid 13’s in the quarter mile consistently.
