Unhappy I hate deer!!

Hey all. Just blowing off some steam. I have only had my truck since July, and I hit a deer on the way to work. Nobody got hurt thank god. But my stomach is still turning over. Now comes the dreaded insurance haggle. blah blah blah. So watch out for Bambi!

Sorry to hear that bud, that really does suck. How fast were you going and how much damage is there? You know we're all going to need some pics of this tragedy

I was getting into a school zone so I was slowing down from 50 to 35. But I didn't stop soon enough. Luckly the damage wasn't too bad. The drivers side headlight and what I call the rock valance?? The thing above the bumper. Thats all. I'm glad I was slowing down and not running More at the time.

Good to hear, deer can cause some damage if they want to. Good thing you got out of it OK. When is the insurance coming to look at it?

Sorry to hear about your truck. I hit a big buck at about 45mph when my truck was about 3 weeks old. It took out everything from the hood and fenders down. I feel your pain.

You are right the deer ran off, but after he flew about 10 ft in the air. I'm working on pics. I"ll try to have some up this weekend. Sorry but i've been working long shifts lately. The adjuster came today. He said it looks like about $1500.00 worth of damage to him. "headlight, Valance, Bumper,Paint, Labor." Looks like I lucked out. No damage to the fender or hood or grille.

Hey all. I'm not sure how to pics on the reply page, but if you go to my profile they are there. I know some will say that's not too bad. But for my first truck, it's killing me.

I'm going to try and keep the old parts and try to take apart the old headlight. Just like others have. I'm interested in painting the headlights black satin. It might look good on the white truck.
