Trying to mount my Scanngauge II to my rear view mirror. Need help.

I need to lower my rear view mirror so I can install my new Scangauge. I bought a mount that attaches it on top of the mirror, but there is not enough room between it and the headliner, unless I'm doing something wrong. I moved the mirror every way I could to try and fit it there and it ain't happening.

How do you get the mount off the windshield... fishing string? Isn't it glued on?

This is the kit I bought. Has anyone else used this mount?

hey bud, long time no talk. when i was switching out my mirror for the one with the camera screen, it was a PITA to get off. i know it has two pivot points on it. one at the back of the mirror and one at the windshield. if you have already tilted it down as far as it will go at the windshield and then tilt up atbock of mirror where you can see and there isnt enough room, then i would say it wont fit. that is all i can think off right now. hope this helps!!!

Hey Chris

Yeah I've already tried pivoting it down as far as it will go to make it fit. I'm thinking if I move the mount (base) down I can lower the mirror enough to get it in there... I hope

I just don't want to scratch my windshield trying to remove the mount from it.

That sucks! Maybe I'll have to check with a glass shop. How much was a new windshield?
