I don't know, I bought the kit w/ the belief and understanding that based on the components in it and the literature about it, that it would almost have to sit a hair taller than any truck w/ a spacer on the front only- if there's a 1.5" in the rear compared to a truck w/o an AAL, then that's common sense. The stuff said it would level the truck, but I suppose it's possible that it would still have an almost unnoticeable rake afterwards. I've seen pics of trucks w/ them on, they look great. So does the rancho 4", but it costs a lot more. I liked the idea of better ride quality and a little edge on height over a spacer, so I bought the skyjacker.

Dude, if you look back into some discussions on the spacers a couple years ago on here, you'll see the negatives written. I'm not looking for it, I know what I read and it doesn't matter to me. But I guess now the companies have corrected whatever was causing any issues w/ the spacers. I just want more than 2" on the front of my truck, or else I'm not going to do anything to it at all until I can afford a new truck and taller lift that is safe to use.

the early early spacers caused contact between the upper control arm and coil spring alot. they've since been redesigned and offset to stop this.

the UCA and coil spring still contact...but now they only do it when the tire is fully drooped (aka, tire off the ground).

other than that, there is about 0 negatives for using a spacer type leveling kit.

mercedes tech- congrats, we're all so proud of you. i understand your position. i have nothing more to say to your messages or the drama you try to create on a forum

i don't go around disrespecting anyone on here and i don't really think any of the rest of you felt that i did. thanks to all for the recommendations and info regarding my questions on the lift. it seems that a lot of people have decided to use leveling kits. everyone has their own choices for what they think is best. i made a purchase a while back and i'm not loaded (or i would have bought wheels/tires and already had it on a long time ago) so i can just throw my lift away and go buy something else. i'm going for looks mainly and so i thought the skyjacker kit would give me a lift and look all the way around that i wanted instead of just a couple inches up front.

i spoke w/ skyjacker, they told me to contact the company i bought it from and they'd authorize a tradeout of my old style lift for the newer version of it, which is just the struts instead of the entire coilover assembly. we'll see how that goes. again, sorry guys, i'm just the avg joe on here, i do appreciate all your explanations and thoughts that are in line w/ the discussion.

is the only way to buy an AS 2.5" leveling kit through ebay?? what is the going rate?? and why should you get a 3" block in the rear? doesnt that lift the back even more thus defeating the purpose of raising the front with the leveling kit?

Its the only way I am aware of. Might try calling them direct ???

And yes, your 100% right. Some people like the raked look, just looking for more lift, for larger tires, thats all. To each there own.

Also, the 3" block replaces the stock 2" block. Only gaining 1" of lift. It wont be AS raked as factory, but some still say there is a small amount.

MT, have you been doing this!?

MT is one of the most helpful people on this site, dont go bashing him for telling you the truth. 3" can be done but is not recommended. and as for install. do it yourself. it takes 3 hrs to do the front and rear at the max. honestly your not gonna let someone get ripped off, just call around if you dont think you can do it and there will be a good deal to be had. dad paid $300 installed for his 2.5" including the kit. i got qouted at $125 for my AAL install. if you can find a place to do it for $250-$300 i would consider that a fair deal.

dont be afraid to work on your truck. the front looks really complicated but its not. you can rent a ball joint seperator from advanced and that is the only special tool i can think of that you would need.

Aw shucks ! :o

I do appreciate it ! I try and help anyone I can. I have some knowledge, but will be the first person to tell you, I learn a LOT from this site, and members on this board. There is a wealth of knowledge to be had here !

As for his comment, he was refferring to a post I made beforehand. I appologize. Wasn't needed, but I don't think it was "causing drama" or anything of that nature either. Just telling him what it is, he didn't like my answers apparently
