Are Lariat lugnuts different?
Are Lariat lugnuts different?
Anyone know if Lariat lugnuts from a '06 would be different from my '04 FX4? I bought Lariat 20" wheels and the center caps will not snap on using my original lugnuts. The only thing I can think of is the Lariat lugnuts are different. What else would not allow the center caps to snap on?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

they're supposed to be the same...even the Lincoln Mark LT caps will work with the Ford rims
you sure you have the right lugnuts from the factory? and not the lugs that belong on the rims in your sig pic?

Lugs should be the same. Are you sure you're using the right center caps? Only reason I'm asking is cause the OEM 20's use a left and right center cap with different part numbers for the Lariat caps.
I never thought about the lugs being different for aftermarket wheels. The chrome wheels came with my truck when I bought it as well as the stock 18's. I guess I need to find some factory lugs and see if they work.
I didn't know there was a L and R center cap....they look the same at first glance. I'll take a closer look and see if there is a mark of some sort to differentiate the caps. Thanks for the replies.

yeah, you might have some non-factory lugs on there right now.
Only lugs that I heard are different are the Harley Davidson model due to Harley center cap design.

Unless you've got the 7-lug Heavy Duty F150, the regular 6-Lug F150 is the same throughout.
So to answer you question, No they are NOT different.

There are different part numbers for lugnuts...they are different for exposed and unexposed lugnuts. I don't recall any, but I guess some F150's had exposed lugnuts which the centercaps did not cover. All of the unexposed lugnuts, regardless of model F150 or size of wheel, had the same part number, 2L1Z101ZAA.
Well if you are talking lugnuts vs conical jamnuts, then yes there is a difference. Like on my F150 I've got conical jamnuts because I've got center caps that clip onto the jamnuts.
If you have them in plain sight, with non clamping center caps, then you have lugnuts. They are usually made out of chrome to make them look 1/2 way decent.
