I think the DSG could pull it off, but I think I found a middle ground. It is like a liner but its much smoother than the bedliner that everyone is thinking. It looks smooth enough to wash with a sponge and wax even. I will get some pictures up as soon as they are done.

between the tire size, wheel offest, and flairs its VERY tight.
I have no rubbing with normal driving but there are "off road" situations where I get some rubbing up front.

I agree, i think DSG could pull it off along with silver. I'm getting some of these soon myself and might lean towards leaving them unpainted, still up in the air though.

So what exactley is this stuff you speak of? Def. want to see some pics of that.

I need flares pretty bad on my truck or I wont have much paint left by the end of the year. The stock painted flares on my last truck (99 Lariat) looked like absolute azz because of all the gravel and such. That was the first and last time I have had/will have painted flares.

Im not sure how well the bed liner type stuff will hold up to the sticks and gravel and all that either though. How tough is this stuff you are going to use?

I suggest you paint them. I believe it will give a new look to your ride. Go with the painted flares. Just my 2 cents.

Well i agree... that doesnt look all that great. But i'd be willing to bet with flat black wheels, the unpainted flairs would go pretty well. Though i'd have to see that to know if i'd like it.

i say line-x your bumpers, flares, and put a two tone on the bottom with it as well. theres a f250 in auburn. darker silver on top, lighter silver line ex on bottom (he has bumpers, bushwackers and two toned) looks really good IMO.

That does look a little out of place. A DSG FX4 with stock unpainted flares doesnt look that bad, but I do have to agree bigger is nothing better.

...still waiting for my flares to get back.

i was gonna linex all my rockers, bumpers, steps, hitch, tow hooks, but they told me it wouldnt match? is that true or are they just afraid if it dont they are gonna have a situation on their hands

I cannot see a problem with matching, but that sure would be a lot of linex. Could you imagine if it didn't match...after they said it would. Its not like that stuff comes right off.
