2004 and 2008 Differences

My truck (2004 4.6L XLT Supercab) was rear-ended by a local police officer a couple weeks ago while it was parked in front of my apartment and yesterday I dropped it off at the shop. I got a rental through Enterprise and it happened to be a 2008 F150 with only a few options different. Didn't have the auto dimming mirror, the reverse sensing system, nor the power adjustable pedals...

The differences I've noticed are...

Line-in jack on the dash (very cool!)
CD player plays MP3 discs (nice!)
The ***** on the radio have chrome surrounds (looks tacky to me...)
The cloth on the seats is MUCH MUCH improved and has a two-tone look to it.

The biggest difference is how much more pep the engine has. I actually thought it was a 5.4L, but I popped the hood and it's a 4.6L. Supposedly the '04-'08 4.6Ls have the same power... did they tweak the gearing? I suppose Google is my friend for that piece of info, but I wanted to run it by you all first.

More likely it is a different rear in it. Maybe a 3.73. Also as far as radio, on the 07 and 08, you can add an HD radio add-on, just like a sat add-on. You can even have both as I do, although I did not extend my free 6 month sat subscription.
Also you may have lost some power on yours due to dirty injectors, etc.

Well I know what u mean man, I am trading my 05 2wd stx 4.6v8 in for a 08 f150 4x4 stx 4.6v8. for me there is a HUGE difference.

I have noticed...

1. 08 stx now has auto everything except the seats.
2. much better stereo and siries satellite radio.
3. MUCH better seats front and rear.
4. there is something different with the engines the throttle body sits about 2 inches lower in the engine bay then my throttle body on my 05.
5. This truck seems like it has tons more power then my 05 and I bought the 05 new and I remember it never had this much power off the lot.

I have been driving the new truck this past weekend an decided I am going to trade my old truck in its worth it.

I raced an 5.4 XLT in my 4.6 yesterday and beat him. Not like off the line street racing, I was trying to pass him on the highway and he didn't want to give up. I took him from about 55-80 or maybe 95 depending on if my wife reads this.
All I have is the S&B intake and Magnaflow catback. I didn't slaughter him by any means but it performed alot better than I thought it would. I love my 4.6. Can't wait to get a tuner and new shoes.

Blue, were you going trade in your truck? I remember you saying you were.

I decided to take the plunge and get an 08 now before the 09s come out.
