This really blows

well guys I went to the dealership the other day to get my oil changed and tires rotated and the mech. was looking at my rear diff when he spotted something funny....well turns out i had water in my rear diff....don't know how the heck it got there but it did so i had to pay $150 to get it flushed.....anybody else have this prob.....i am really disappointed i dont know why or how this happened

It happened to me in my old bronco and i had to replace an axle seal.

How often do you drive the truck? if it sits for long periods and is only driven short distances condensation could be a factor. Or if you offroad pretty hardcore the breather could have took in some water.

i drive it often and i'm not a hard core offorader cause its only a 2wd but i do think that i got some in through the breather but not cause of off roading but cause of some rescue work that i had to do in the truck when it flooded back home...i'm thinking thats what it was cause my rear axle was under water at one point

That's how it happens. What did the mechanic spot on your rear axle that made him check the oil?
