Center console with shifter

I came across a full set of almost new tan leather seats and center tan console with a shifter at a junkyard. Is the console a hard mod to add if I don't have it already. SHould I just sell it and move on. What is really involved with this switch. How can I test it to make sure everything is good with it.

Do a search a few people have done it here and explain it in detail. I think its more time consuming then anything. Good luck.

There was someone on here who did the swap a few years ago. He took pics of it during the process. He pretty much took all of the interior out. Just search for that thread and see what you think about it.

if you have all the linkages going from the transmission and what not i dont see why its not possible. but if you have to buy new parts from ford i doubt it would be worth your time or money.

This would be the best upgrade for the new Roush Nitemare.

What was Roush thinking going with a tree shifter on a 445hp 4900lb sled????

It does when it doesn't shift when it's supposed to. When you're pulling mid 13's, you want to have the ability to downshift or upshift on demand.

I use mine all the time, especially when I want to downshift faster than the pedal lets me.

Hard part would be swapping the dash. The console shifter dash is virtually flat all the way to the carpet. The tree shifter dash slopes towards the front.
