P2106 and P2135

Alright guys, I have researched these codes in the forums and it just seems like everything is going around in circles, can someone please explain to me what to do or what you have experienced? About two weeks ago I was driving home, passed another vehicle on a two lane and probably accelerated to fast. Anyway, a little while later the wrench light came on. Turned off the truck and it hasn't come back since. About a week ago, the service engine light came on and has staying on ever since. I called ford and they said it would cost $90 just to read the codes! Well I took it to autozone and they came up with p2106 and p2135. Do I just need to replace the trottle position sensor? I have an 05 supercrew with about 44,500 miles. No edge, no mods except exhaust, any suggestions?

replace the sensor and you may need a reflash from the dealer, but this will fix the problem, been there done that!!

Thanks for the reply, I've ordered a sensor from O'reilly auto parts. What is the purpose of the reflash and is it necessary?

Anything other than a Ford sensor is garbage and probably won't work. Good luck with that.

P2106 and P2135

Hello I got these codes when my truck dies randomly. Got the check engine light. I reset with my scanner but I have to do this every two weeks approximately. I can change easily my TPS with motorcraft original part if this seems to be the solution. But do I really need to bring the truck to the dealer to reprogram the PCM? What if I don't reprogram it? What will happen? (F150 2004 4x2, 5.4, 110 000 km). (My dealer is not very good)
Thanks!
Bye!

I don't see why it would have to be reflashed.

Thanks glc. I think I will simply try to change the Throttle Postion Sensor and see what will happen. It can't be worst! My engine could die sporadically and it is not very safe!

Shouldnt need a reflash just for sensor swap. My boss gets tps codes if he starts his truck up and puts it in gear immediately.

I am having a similar problem with a 2004 F-150 Lariat 5.4 it has barely any power when you push the gas it gets to high revs but only creeps around it reads two error codes P2106 and p0720 I tried cleaning the throttle body but no such luck yet I want to buy a new throttle body but if that's not the problem it will be a big waste of money any information can help!
