More Power

I'm looking for a little more power to make towing a little easier. I have a CDC Shaker cold air kit installed with K&N filter. Which tuners seem to work well with the 04 5.4? Which ones to stay away from?

Thanks

I've got one from Troyer. Just towed today for the first time since I got the tuner in Dec, 06. Pulled great. Couldn't speak for the other tuners out there, but everyone that has one from Troyer Performance has very high regards for them.

Very cool, I really wish I could put that intake kit in, how big of a difference did it really make? It may have a few issues offroad for me however and how does it not inhale rain water?

Tuners that work well, XCal2/3 and the Edge Evolution. I've had both, really prefer the edge evolution. I need it to monitor a lot of things anyhow. One of it's great features is it's alert system/monitoring system.

It has a large plenum with holes in the bottom. You also drill holes in the intake in the event of carryover. There is drain hoses on the upper part of the shaker as well. I noticed no improvement other than a absolute loss of intake silencing. Since it removed all the intake tract, it seems like I actually lost a little torque. The hardest part of installation "1. Find the center of the hood......"

I've never had an edge or anything else other than the xcal3 but whatever you get go with custom tunes 1st. I had the canned tunes before I got my custom ones & I had a problem with the torque converter. Once I got my custom tunes it it went away and no problems yet.

The custom tuning with the Gryphon will be able to handle the air flow much better than the Edge that is for the factory intake. I know of some people that ran a CAI with Edge tunes without problems, but why take the change of a boom! I think that custom tuning is the way to go if you want to get the most out of your truck. I just wanted a little better performance a few years ago, and the Edge with the display won me over. Believe it or not, but my Airaid Jr. did give some advantage on the mileage game, but not much in the performance end. Good Luck.
