Hi, New F150 owner here....

Hello, My name is Nick and I just bought my first truck ever, a red 2006 F150 FX Supercab. I've always wanted on, and I finally manned up and bought one. I picked up a 2006 Red FX4 Supercab with 25K miles on it. The only options it doesn't have is a moonroof or leather. It has the Audiophile system, parking sensors, running boards, sliding rear window, a bedliner and 20" wheels. I got the truck for $19.5K with the extended premium care warranty with 0 deductible until September of 2012. I think I did pretty good.

Here is a pic of it from the dealers website....

Once I detail it my way...Menzerna and Pinnacle, I'll post some good pics.

I also own a 2003 Cobra vert as my weekender...

I guess what I'm asking is general questions. Are there known issues/problems, are they worth it to mod them, what can you do them!?

School this F150/truck noob....
Thanks guys/girls!

Just with a quick tour around this website, i think you will find that these trucks look 1000x better with mods, even just a few simple ones.

There are many mods you can do. So far on my truck ive done Custom Tuning, Cold Air Intake, Full Catback exhaust, window tint, HID headlights, HID foglights, tailgate emblems, tinted taillights, toolbox, 6" suspension lift, new rims, 35" mud tires, complete stereo replacement. Just a few ideas.

Known problems are the spark plug issue, do a search and read up on that. As long as you change them every 30k (instead of Ford's recommended 100k) you should be fine. Also the window regulators are crap, they tend to go out on people. A few other small things here and there, but otherwise they are very solid and capable rigs.

Have fun and Welcome!

I really want to detail this thing! My Cobra is white and I can detail the **** out of it and it looks "okay". With red, you can get good depth and reflection!

I've been searching around, I think I just want to swap out the muffler for a little more sound, put a soft bed cover on it and do some sort of touch screen nav/DVD. I like the way the stock system sounds, but I'm afraid If I swap the head unit it will sound like crap!

Welcome.

Great looking Cobra.

An aftermarket set of components ran off your new HU would sound fine if you are mainly looking at an HU upgrade. You wouldn't have to drop that much more coin on a nice set of components.

Awesome rides. I'll have the same stable as you in a couple years. I'll get an 09 GT500 or a 2010 Mustang if they're pushing around 400 hp.
