Tailgate Cap

Some of the plastic clips on the tailgate cap (plastic piece on top of tailgate) and it is loose. I have removed it before it blows off. I'm trying to get a new one or find a perm fix for this. Has anyone else had this problem? I could order one from the dealership, but what's to keep the next one from doing the same thing?

Also, I haven't been able to find any inexpensive alternative online. Anyone know of a good site for ordering OEM parts?

I don't know if this will solve your problem but it keeps the plastic from getting scared up.

Since you already have it off, get some clear silicone and run a couple beads along the top and side of the tailgate. Take your trim piece and just press it back into place. That trim will never come loose again.

It appears the PO dragged something out of the bed and damaged the Cap. I might try the silicone trick, was also thinking of double sided 3m tape.
