Just thinking about a 6 spd auto tranny

Guys will the 6 spd auto tranny that is in the 08 Expy bolt up to a 06 5.4L F150?

Just thinking it might be a cool way to keep my current paid for truck but get the benefit of the new 6 speed auto that's coming in the 09 F150.

Does anyone make an aftermarket 6 speed for the F150?

Not sure, but If I remember right, it was suggested in one forum that the F-250 5 speed would not fit in our trucks, the 6 speed might not fit any better.

I also would like to know this I loved my 6speed in the camaro manual tho but a 6speed in an f150 would get better mpg's too cruising around a few 100 rpms lower on the highway FTW!

No, but in researching the problem those are all of the factors, provided by contributors to this forum, that can attribute the problem. It's my way of pointing out that the root of the problem is not the symptoms described.

The 2009 F-150 has an auto 6 speed, 320 HP 380 TQ. Trade in time?

why not just wait for the 09 F-150 comes out and buy that transmission? might have to get a PCM piggyback module to control the shifting though.
