Bed bouncing going over bumps, anyone else?

hi all,

I have an 06 F150 SC, 4x4 with standard bed. I notice that the back of the bed moves a good 1/2 inch when hitting bumps on the driver side but not on the passenger side. I've checked all the bolts which were tight. Had service manager drive it and he said yeah it's moving some but not to much and it's normal.

So does anyone else have this normal problem? It doesn't affect the truck any but just wondering why it's moving so much. I can only imagine what GM, Dodge, Toy or Nissan truck owners are thinking following me down the road

Thanks

The frames on these trucks are as stout as they make them in the half ton market. You do get a light shake when going over bumps but it is nothing when compared to the Tundra.

It's normal, don't worry about it
Like scott said, it's just due to the frame being so stiff.

Yeah that's what I have and it doesn't affect the ride just notice it in the mirror.

Yeah I test drove a Tundra and when that bed bounces you feel it in the seat. I don't have that problem with my Ford.

Mine bounces a little... just like the one in the video, jumps near the tailgate, but doesn't transfer down past the rear wheels near the cab.

Thats the first time I've watched that video in its entirety, that Tundra doesn't look one bit safe traveling down that course. The Chevy's lose of traction probably doesn't feel to great behind the wheel either.

People do not give the 04-08 F-150's near the credit they deserve. You may find a more powerful truck but you will not find a more capable, reliable and better made half ton on the roads. Plus lets be honest, it is one of the best looking trucks of all time

I know that videos probly a little more extreme than what you would see on the road, but holy chit that toyota looks like the frame is made of plastic. that is horrible, i cant imagine what would happen if there was weight in the bed.

Thanks for the information guys, I knew this was the place to find a good answer

Yeah that was the first time I watched that video also and man the competition has some serious bed bounce going on.

Mines only back by the tailgate so I can live with that.

you are not actually seeing the bed bounce. it is the cab bouncing on the rubber isolators.

but yeah, it is really normal. luckily our beds don't contact the bed like the Tundra
