Sell my Mustang GT for F150?? pics.. plz help!!

hey guys..

ive had my 07 Mustang GT for about a year and 4 months now.. i fckin loveee this car.. but heres a few things that im thinking..

im going through fire school right now, and in january i will be graduating.. (and soon following, get hired on)

starting sept 25, i will be doing fire standards and more than not, have wet bunker gear that i will have to haul to and from school everyday... this is something that kind of concerns me.. (with the stang..) i realize i could just throw it in the trunk and put like a rubber mat down or something.. but even when i get into the field.. having a truck is sooo much better..

i used to have an 06 f150.. small lift, all the little **** done to it, and i loved it and hated leaving it for my car.. but then i grew to fckin LOVE this car.. more than i loved my truck..

and so badly, i want to keep this car forever, and one day beable to give it to my son!.. and once i get hired on, making some money, i would be able to get another F150 on the side.. (used) and make payments.. but if i take that route.. it will probably be stock, no lift, and stupid.. (i cant drive a low truck.. its against my religion..)

and once i got the truck as my second car, make the stang a weekend/track car.. slap a blower on it eventually.. etc..

well... i just dont see how im going to make the money to (car is paid off) pay for a truck, a house/appt, and all the **** that comes along with it, and be able to have money to lift it and ****..

so basically.. what im asking you guys.. is should i sell my car and get a truck because it makes more sense as far as use (with having a bed, and more room inside).. as far as leaving this car, which will be 100% paid off in october, and getting a truck.. i will be on the market for one that is used, and relatively close in price, if anything.. make payments of like 300/mo for like a year or two..

so i wouldnt really be putting my self into the whole.. or picking up more debt.. (which i am debt free as of right now, minus my car.. which i dont consider debt, bc i have the money and im doing payments to establish credit.. )

but heres what im driving right now.. got about $3500 into it.. maybe $4,000.. in mods..

and heres what i eventually want to be in.. something like this..

HELP ME!!! IM SO TORN!!!

Truck looks way better. Need some rims and other pieces before the car can touch it!

It's all about what you really want. If you love the car that much and can tolerate and/or figure out a way that you can work something out to transport your stuff then i'd say keep the car. Otherwise, if it's too much of a hassle get a truck and mod it up to where you like it as much as the car.

All else fails, get both!

Don't an idiot. Especially with the possibility of a job shortage in the near future keep the car.

But as the economy faces possible downturn taxes take a hit, and therefor so do budgets.

In San Diego the SDPD is having to cut pensions and reduce pay, forcing people to leave the department in search of better pay.

I stand by my suggestion, given his financial situation the dumbest thing he could possibly do right now (and least responsible) would be to sell a car that is almost paid off and START modding a truck that will cost him much more to maintain.

DUMB?

If you want a truck get a truck... if you like your Stang then keep it. Don't take advice from someone who drives a Focus.

LULZ at your guys replies!!! lololol.. thank you.. i think im going to keep the car, and try and score on a used f150 in about a year.. i figure i should be able to afford a second car by then, and the new body styles will be out by then, so i will be able to get an older used one..

i really appreciate the help and tips.. i understand what focus guy is saying about the times.. but even if something rediculous like that did happen.. part of the reason IAFF is there.. the union baby!..

..ps.. the florida state retirement (as long as im with a county dept. and not city..) has billions apon billions in there.. so im not worried about pension..

but thanks guys!

My truck and car (as well as financial savvy and restraint) both pwn you. Thanks for playing

How much debt are you in? What's your credit score? Own a house? Plans to get into a house?

for some reason I have a feeling the people saying "Go buy the F150!" are most likely people who would shy away from answering most, if not all of those questions. Just a hunch...

Those are questions that should (and probably have) been asked of himself and already taken into consideration.

As we all know, a vehicle is pretty much the worst investment a person can make since they wont make you any money. Interest kills, so pay cash for as much as you possibly can, and use credit very sparingly. How much better is it to have a paid off car that you could afford than something that was a bit nicer that you're paying hundreds in interest every month? Think how wonderful it is to be able to save the money you put toward your car note every month instead of blowing it in interest and payments?

But we all already knew this right?

PAY OFF YOUR CAR then get your Truck...
And just like your car personalise your truck as you go...

I traded my 04 Stang GT 5spd for my truck but we have crappy weather here in Chicago and being that I moved over an hour away from work a truck was my best bet!! But another Stang is coming soon!!!

Definitely pay off the car. Then you own it,regardless of job situation. You can score a used trucj once you are working and established a bit. Any skank in the rear can be cleaned weekly and aired out.
