I demolished a shopping cart this weekend

So I went to the grocery store this weekend and this is where I made the dumbass play of the day. When I was about to leave, I decided to pull forward out of the parking spot because there was no vehicle in the parking spot in front of me. While there was no vehicle in front of me, there was a shopping cart which I could not see because my truck is lifted enough to where it was not visible.

Now to get a picture of what happened I will describe the surroundings. To my right of the open parking spot across from me was a small greenspace with a tree, grass, and a curb surrounding it.

Well when I moved forward to pull out the spot, the cart got jammed in between my truck and the curb for the greenspace. I did not notice I hit the cart because my Xterrains are pretty rough at low speeds so I just kept going. Then I hear a loud bang and see a shopping cart go flying. The bottom of the cart had to have been at least 3-4 feet off the ground. I get out and it put a couple of dents and probably a 6" scratch down to the bare metal near my hood and knocked the center cap off my wheels. Somehow my wheels were not scratched. I was very pissed with the situation. Demolishing the cart did little to console me. Now all I can do is make joke of it. My brother does body work occasionally. Hopefully he can help me out. I wish I took a picture of the cart though now that I have calmed down a little.

Sorry for the long post but I needed to vent a bit.

Good for you.

As far as I'm concerend its open season on the buggies.

The only good buggie is a dead buggie.

I hate seeing those things just loitering around waiting for some unsuspected victim.

What I hate even worse are the people who never put them in the "cart keepers".

I had someone pull into the space behind me and sandwich a cart between us. I came out and found it wedged under my bumper with a nice dent in the tailgate where the handle hit it and rode up.

At least I don't have to worry about anyone stealing my tailgate.

If I did that, I would be pissed, but not at myself. I would be mad at the dumba$$ that was too lazy to put the empty cart in the cart corral! Too many lazy mothereffers in this world! Eff the mothereffers!

This thread is kinda worthless without pics of that dead shopping cart. Sorry to hear about your truck, that is one of the reasons I hate parking in store parking lots.

LMAO, that sucks though.

I vote you go back and take pics of the cart if its still there.
I would have loved to seen the look on the guys face that goes out and collects all the carts from the parking lot when he saw that.

To steal the thread, I can top that haha. I had my truck parked in my garage. I had put something in the passenger side door and when I closed the door the little string that hangs down from the garage got stuck inbetween my door and the truck. I never once saw it, as im pulling out of my garage the truck pulled the string down, garage door fell nailing my hood and putting a nice solid scratch all the way across it. Awesome feeling!

I did the EXACT same thing except i was backing out so the door slammed down onto the bed of my truck. Luckily it did no damage, just made a loud-a$$ noise and scared the crap out of me.
